If the recommended recipients are qualified public charities that fall within the general scope of JEF’s mission, and there is no suggestion of private benefit to the donor, JEF will make every effort to honor the donor’s wishes. In cases where recommendations are denied, they typically have been denied because they were to organizations that:

Do not qualify for tax-exempt public charity status,
Provide material benefits of goods or services to the donor as a result of the distribution (event tickets, meals, auction items, etc.), and/or
Is an organization that opposes the Democratic State of Israel or supports the BDS movement.

A DONOR FUND - Cover our processing fees?
A credit card processing fee (approximately 2-3%) is charged at the time of the contribution. Donors who make a gift to their existing DAF of $1,000, for instance, would receive a $1,000 charitable gift tax receipt. However, after the 2-3% processing fee, the gift to the DAF will be reduced by the fees incurred. Donors also have the option to cover the fee by checking the box below. Donation Policy

The Jewish Endowment Foundation of Louisiana (JEF) collects unrestricted donations to the General Fund on its website to support our mission. If you believe that an error has been made in connection with your online donation, contact us at [email protected] or (504) 524-4559. We will endeavor to work with you to correct any such error, and if necessary, make any refund or correction that is appropriate. If you change your mind about donating online to JEF for any reason, JEF is happy to honor your decision as long as you request a refund (return of donation) within 14 calendar days of the date on which you made the contribution. To request a refund, email [email protected]. Refunds will be issued as a credit to the credit card used for the original donation.
